#R1# Vaira throws a left and a right that both miss
#CL# and Fire holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Vaira has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Fire comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. #CUT#It looks like Gustavas Vaira has been cut. Vaira has had enough of the clinch but Fire keeps him there for the moment. Vaira being controlled against the cage.#BC# Fire escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vaira misses with a double jab
#CL# and Fire counters by clinching up. Fire has Vaira pressed against the cage, preventing Vaira from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Vaira tries to circle away but Fire has him pinned against the cage. Knees in the clinch landing for Fire .
#TD# Fire has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Vaira uses from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Fire throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Vaira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fire . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vaira would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Fire lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR##T1# Fire throwing strikes but missing. #SU# Fire stands up and waves to Vaira to follow him. Nice straight punches there by Vaira. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Vaira. A punch combination from Vaira misses. Vaira misses with a series of wild punches.
Vaira throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
#TD# Fire shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vaira is trying to defend but Fire finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Vaira blocking the ground and pound attempt from Fire . #T2# Fire missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fire is taking a breather. Vaira says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.#SUB# Fire is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Fire trying to control the pace. #SUB# Fire is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vaira defends it well. Fire has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. #T4# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vaira pushes Fire off looking to stand but Fire dives back in and keeps control.
Fire not doing much here.
Fire trying to control the action but Vaira is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fire is really struggling to control Vaira but he's trying to hold on to the position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wang Fire dominated that round. The cut man is working on Gustavas Vaira's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.#R2# Vaira misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fire drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Vaira fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.#ROC2#Fire is rocked! Vaira misses with a double jab.
Oh Fire is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!#TD# Fire shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Vaira is looking to stand back up but Fire counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Vaira. #REVB# Fire is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vaira can do to turn this around? Fire is figuring out what he wants to do next. Fire seems to have got his legs back now. Fire works his way into side control. #T1# Vaira pushes Fire away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Fire gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.#SUB# Fire tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fire has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ground and pound from Fire seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. #SU# Fire decides to stand back up. Fire dodges the punch combination from Vaira.
