A short left from Kirk. #TD# Kirk wants the takedown. Mensah is fighting it off but Kirk persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mensah's guard against the cage. Kirk working some strikes from top position.#SUB# Kirk drops back looking for a leg! Mensah is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mensah manages to kick Kirk off! Kirk jumps back into Mensah's guard. Kirk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mensah controls Kirk momentarily but Kirk frees himself. Kirk advances to half guard. #SUB# Kirk is working for a submission of some sort.

#R1##TD# Webber shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mensah's guard. Mensah trying to control the position here. Webber trying to control the position from guard on top but Mensah is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mensah pulls Webber in to control the position. Mensah keeping moving, preventing Webber from controlling successfully. Mensah really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Webber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mensah is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mensah keeping moving, preventing Webber from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mensah not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Blitzkrieg tries for a takedown but Mensah circles away easily and Mensah counters with a three punch combo that has Blitzkrieg backing up. Blitzkrieg nods at Mensah to acknowledge the strikes. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Blitzkrieg is defended easily by Mensah. Mensah tries to counter with a takedown but Blitzkrieg is quick to defend against it. Alicia Blitzkrieg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blitzkrieg fails with the takedown enabling Mensah to counter with a crisp jab. #T4# Blitzkrieg shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mensah makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.#TD2# Blitzkrieg fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mensah to the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mensah is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Cuaresma definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Cuaresma trying to pass the guard.
