Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Petrov throws a solid leg kick but Mondragon takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Petrov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petrov misses with a low kick.
Mondragon flicks out a counter leg kick but Petrov steps away.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Mondragon chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Petrov can pounce on him.

Some bone on bone action there as Mondragon checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Billabong throws a sloppy head kick #TD2#
and Petrov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Billabong's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petrov wanted to stand there but Billabong had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petrov passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Petrov postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Billabong prevents Petrov from moving into mount.
Billabong is not content to let Petrov control the position.

Petrov works to advance to full mount. Billabong defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Petrov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Billabong sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
