Dos Anjos acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Rufus Rutger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rutger throws a lazy right hand but Dos Anjos sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Dos Anjos looks to throw the jab but Rutger is out of range. Dos Anjos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rutger misses with an uppercut. Dos Anjos saw that one coming. Rutger looks to land a left hand but Dos Anjos moved out of range nicely. Dos Anjos throws a hook to the side of Rutger's head but Rutger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Dos Anjos stuns Rutger with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Rutger takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rutger moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Rutger lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dos Anjos backs up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rutger lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. A lazy left from Rutger finds it's target. Rutger's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dos Anjos under the eye. Rutger throws a solid leg kick but Dos Anjos takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Rutger. Rutger just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromDos Anjos.
