#R1# Tank pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Shaw is looking for a counter combo. Shaw tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tank defends well and Shaw ends up having to push Tank into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.#TD# Shaw gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Tank regains guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Shaw is looking to stand up but Tank won't let him. Tank is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shaw wants to get up but he can't break Tank's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tank keeping full guard, as Shaw tries to pass. Shaw trying to control but Tank is working from the bottom. Tank is pulling down on Shaw's head. It's preventing any offense from Shaw, at least for the moment. #R1# Nice sprawl there from Writ as Shaw shoots in.#CL# Writ closes the distance and clinches.#TD2# Shaw gets control of Writ's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shaw will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Writ wants to control from the top but Shaw keeps moving. Shaw looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB# Writ is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shaw is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shaw has escaped and now he's on top! #REVB# Writ seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Shaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Writ might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Writ tries to free his leg and advance position but Shaw is retaining full guard.
