Bowers has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Nice shot lands for Bowers. GU uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bowers. GU has his takedown stuffed and Bowers counters with a nice uppercut. GU slips a jab from Bowers. Bowers drops his hands momentarily and GU takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. GU throws a series of punches but Bowers avoids them all with ease. GU throws a low kick but Bowers avoids it. GU changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bowers tries to avoid it but GU manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bowers to the ground. Bowers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Bowers slips a jab and a cross from GU.

Bowers pushes down on GU's head and hops out. Bowers lands a nice leg kick that just misses GU's sensitive parts. GU showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bowers.

Hurry swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A counter left hand to the body from GU misses its target. GU misses with a head kick.
Hurry tries to clinch but GU is having none of it. Hurry throws a right hand that GU ducks under and follows up with a left that GU also avoids with ease.#CL2# Hurry clinches up with GU and pushes him back against the cage. I was talking to GU's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.#BC2# Hurry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. GU shoots for a takedown but Bowy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. GU shoots in for a takedown but Bowy shows good takedown defense. GU throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. GU fails with a takedown attempt. Luke Bowy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gubba GU. Bowy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

#R1# Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ganz lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and GU has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from GU and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Ganz has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic in the buildup to the fight. GU catches Ganz with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Ganz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by GU.
Bartolomeu Ganz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. GU moves out of range as Ganz strikes. Ganz looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
