Tatakai crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Shinigumi - the referee stops the clock and Tatakai gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Shinigumi. Tatakai manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Tatakai lands with a nice body punch. Shinigumi moves out of range of the strikes. Tatakai looks to land a combination but Shinigumi avoids it well. Shinigumi with the inside leg kick. We've been informed that Tatakai has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Shinigumi throws a nice looking combination but Tatakai bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Shinigumi throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Shinigumi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A nice leg kick from Shinigumi, right into the meat of the thigh.

As Shinigumi receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Tatakai away and this one is in the books!

#R1# Shinigumi throws a nice outside leg kick. Shinigumi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shinigumi wants it to stay on the feet. A nice inside leg kick there by Shinigumi. That's going to slow Reyes down. Shinigumi throws a low kick but it's checked well by Reyes. Reyes with the counter takedown but Shinigumi avoids it easily. Shinigumi slaps away a takedown attempt from Reyes, before circling back to the center of the mat. Reyes swings away with a leg kick that misses. Shinigumi is looking to slow Reyes down with leg kicks. Shinigumi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Reyes or perhaps it was just good defense by Shinigumi, which made it look bad. Koro Shinigumi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Reyes. Reyes tries to clinch but Shinigumi moves out of range. Shinigumi is looking to slow Reyes down with leg kicks. #R1# Shinigumi feints and then cracks Hoogo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hoogo down. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!#CL2# Hoogo closes the distance and clinches. Hoogo misses with some punches.
#TD2# Hoogo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Hoogo keeping moving, preventing Shinigumi from controlling successfully. Shinigumi postures up in Hoogo's guard and throws a big left but Hoogo blocks it. #SUB2# Shinigumi is sitting in close to Hoogo's body. Hoogo has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Shinigumi is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Shinigumi is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hoogo.
