Carruthers has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Carruthers tries to move into range but Knight moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Carruthers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carruthers takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

and Masvidal connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Carruthers has his takedown stuffed
and Masvidal counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Carruthers fails in his attempt to clinch.
Masvidal lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Masvidal throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Carruthers colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Masvidal as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Carruthers is left battered and dazed whilst Masvidal and his camp cheer!
