Stevens will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Flair stands up over Stevens, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Stevens looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Flair trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Flair postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. #SUB# Stevens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Flair gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Stevens seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Stevens has KnockOut pressed against the cage.
KnockOut is looking to break free of the clinch but Stevens has double underhooks. Stevens is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. KnockOut is defending well for now. Stevens tries to pull guard but KnockOut forces him back to his feet, against the cage. KnockOut's coach down at CHECKMATE PRIME MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on KnockOut's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Stevens has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. KnockOut avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. KnockOut slowing the pace effectively. Stevens wants to break free but KnockOut has control.

He'll look to pass Stevens's guard now, I'm sure. Zig tries to free his leg and advance position but Stevens is retaining full guard. #ES2# Stevens has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Zig off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. A head kick misses from Stevens. Zig feinted with a counter takedown. Stevens uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Zig. Stevens misses with a leg kick #TD# and Zig counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stevens won't be happy with that. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dilbrandt walks away with a smile on his face. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Stevens darts in looking for a takedown but Dilbrandt gets double underhooks and turns Stevens into the cage. Stevens shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dilbrandt defends it nicely. Deacon Dilbrandt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Stevens. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stevens is defended easily by Dilbrandt. Dilbrandt throws a low kick but Stevens moves out of range easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stevens misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Stevens has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Stevens in particular looking to stall.
