#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Hoca waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Del Valle . Hoca ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Hoca's coach down at Walter J Abramowitz Center for Bigness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hoca's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Del Valle tries to move into range but Hoca moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Del Valle uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hoca. Del Valle 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hoca connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Del Valle scrambles back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoca digs a good body shot into Del Valle 's ribs. Hoca lands with a right hand. #T1# Hoca misses with a straight left. Hoca throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hoca follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

#R1##TD# Del Valle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Del Valle looking to pass the guard. #SUB2# Del Valle is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Diaz has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Del Valle is looking to defend but Diaz has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Del Valle ! Diaz pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Del Valle taps out and this one is all over!

Del Valle has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Del Valle doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hoca counters with a nice uppercut. A looping hook to the body misses from Hoca. Del Valle does a little dance to reset his feet. Hoca swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hoca stuns Del Valle with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Del Valle shoots in for a takedown but Hoca shows good takedown defense. Hoca throws out a counter right but Del Valle avoids it with no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab from Hoca does it's job there.
