Laird stands up over Holmes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Holmes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Laird arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Holmes's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Holmes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McMaggara quickly recovers to half guard.
Holmes is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
McMaggara is pressing down on Holmes's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.#SUB#
Holmes is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but McMaggara has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Holmes is looking to defend but McMaggara has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Holmes! McMaggara pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Holmes taps out and this one is all over!

Holmes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Waltston.
Holmes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Chloride shoots for a double leg takedown but Holmes sprawls well. He's pushed Chloride's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Holmes has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Acme Island Savages in the buildup to the fight.

and Kogir cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Holmes counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Finale has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
