Wassermann tries to work over Diaz's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Wassermann digs a right hand underneath Diaz's ribcage. Diaz let out a lung full of air as it connected. Diaz lands a left hand that snaps the head of Wassermann backwards. Diaz is trying to pull guard but Wassermann turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz lands a right hand that snaps the head of Wassermann backwards. Diaz has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Wassermann.#TD# Diaz pulls Wassermann into guard.

and Moura takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Moura tries a head kick but it misses.
Wassermann now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Moura shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Wassermann! But no joy. Moura misses with a wild body shot. Moura shoots in for a takedown but Wassermann shows good takedown defense. Wassermann looks like he wants to counter punch here. No luck with that takedown attempt from Moura. Wassermann is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Moura with a body shot. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marques Moura. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Moura closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. I was talking to Wassermann's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A nice right hand lands inside from Ries. Wassermann tries a body shot but Ries blocks it.

KJ Wassermann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timo Leyton. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wassermann definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. A bit of stalling here from Wassermann.
Moura's coach down at Big Island Fitness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Moura's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Wassermann stops a takedown attempt from Moura.

Wassermann uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. KJ Wassermann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wassermann works Lee's body with a nice hook. Wassermann lands a nice shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A shot to the body from Lee misses and Wassermann counters with a right hand to the body. Wassermann has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Velazquez to stand back up!#ROC#Velazquez is rocked!#CUT#It looks like Austin Velazquez has been cut. Wassermann ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Velazquez's jaw. Velazquez's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Wassermann does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
