#R1# Cockinson shoots in for a takedown but Papen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A nice side step and Papen releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Cockinson connects with a solid leg kick. Cockinson tries for a takedown but Papen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Papen misses with a lunging right hand
and Cockinson counters with a slapping leg kick. Peter Cockinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cockinson shoots in for a double leg but Papen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Cockinson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cockinson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Papen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cockinson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Papen. Cockinson shoots in but no luck this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cockinson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Papen avoids it really well and circles away. Cockinson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
