#R1# Mountain Dew on the wrong end of a nice jab. A jab from Wei misses. Wei throws a body shot but no joy. Mountain Dew tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wei defends well and Mountain Dew ends up having to push Wei into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Wei throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wei misses with a wild combination.
Wei looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Wei lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Wei. Mountain Dew fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wei avoids it really well and circles away. Wei was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Wei lands a jab to the nose. Mountain Dew is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A looping hook to the body misses from Wei. Mountain Dew does a little dance to reset his feet. A decent looking cross lands there for Wei.#T1# Wei thumps Mountain Dew with a low kick. Wei ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mountain Dew moves away. Wei displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mountain Dew. Wang Wei has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Mountain Dew. A looping hook to the body misses from Wei. Mountain Dew does a little dance to reset his feet. Mountain Dew takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Mountain Dew fails with the takedown. Mountain Dew tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wei defends well and Mountain Dew ends up having to push Wei into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Wei misses with an attempted mid kick.
Wei lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Wei throws a right hand that Mountain Dew ducks under and follows up with a left that Mountain Dew also avoids with ease. Mountain Dew takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Wei looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. And Mountain Dew tries to counter it with a takedown but Wei pushes his down on his head and steps out. Mountain Dew tries to close the distance and clinch but Wei swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. #T2# Wei buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Wei moves out of range as Mountain Dew strikes. Wei connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#TD2# Wei gets caught napping as Mountain Dew dives in and scores a takedown. Wei manages to retain guard. Mountain Dew looks winded! Wei keeping moving, preventing Mountain Dew from controlling successfully. #ES# Wei has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mountain Dew off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Wang Wei is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mountain Dew rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wei counters with a good, hard body kick but Mountain Dew shrugs it off. Wei's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mountain Dew under the eye.#KD# Nice combo by Wei! Oh, that's hurt him - Mountain Dew falls to the canvas and Wei follows him into side control. #ROC#Mountain Dew is rocked!#SU# Wei stands up and we're back to a striking position. Mountain Dew is still on wobbly legs! Can Wei finish him?#KD# Wei cracks Mountain Dew with an uppercut from hell and Mountain Dew crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Wei's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
#T3##SU# Mountain Dew is working an open guard so Wei takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Mountain Dew gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Wei gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wang Wei! Wang Wei decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |
