Paul jabbing away but nothing is landing. Paul scores with a decent looking hook.#CUT2#It looks like Henry Dustfinger has been cut. Good leg kick by Dustfinger. Paul swings for the body but Dustfinger moves out of range.
Paul fails with the takedown and Dustfinger cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.#CUT#It looks like John Paul has been cut. Paul moves forwards but Dustfinger connects with a nice, crisp jab. Paul throws a right and a left that Dustfinger avoids nicely. Paul doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dustfinger counters with a left to the body. Dustfinger throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Paul sees it coming and avoids it easily. Paul moves out of range of the strikes. Paul misses with a looping right. It looked like Dustfinger was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Paul. Dustfinger bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Paul has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dustfinger finds it's way round the side to connect with Paul's head. Dustfinger has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Crapollas Gym in the buildup to the fight. Paul throws a looping overhand right but Dustfinger ducks down to avoid it. #KD# Dustfinger sends Paul crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Dustfinger is motioning to the referee to let Paul up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Dustfinger throws an overhand right that drops Paul like a sack of potatoes! Dustfinger dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henry Dustfinger! A very excited looking Henry Dustfinger rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. |

Graves ducks under a wild hook from Paul. Paul throws out a loose jab but Graves uses good head movement to avoid it. Paul pushing out the jab but it's not landing. It seemed like Graves was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Paul slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Paul lands with a right hand. Paul is looking to slow Graves down with leg kicks. Paul misses with a looping right. Graves throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Graves misses with an uppercut. Paul saw that one coming. Paul misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Graves pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've been told by Paul's head coaches at LA FIGHT BARN that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Nice defenses there by Graves. Graves pushes Paul away with a front kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Paul wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jones is working to avoid the ground and pound but Paul connects with a decent elbow. Paul controls the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paul tries to advance to mount but Jones denies him. Paul trying to control the position but Jones is working away. Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. #T1# Paul is trying to control the action in half guard but Jones is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Paul content to control rather than advance. Paul is looking to stall here but Jones recovers full guard. Paul engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Paul looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVB##T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.#SUB2# Jones drops back for a leg! Paul is landing with some decent strikes but Darongo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Paul trying to control but he's not successful this time. Darongo is in a horrible position here. Paul smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Clappertron is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Paul slips under a jab. Clappertron ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Clappertron staying out of range there. Paul gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Clappertron counters with a straight right hand.#CUT2#It looks like John Paul has been cut. Clappertron connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Paul's hands. Paul throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Clappertron on the side of the head. Clappertron avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Paul fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Giantslayer darts in looking for a takedown but Paul gets double underhooks and turns Giantslayer into the cage. Nice takedown defense from Paul. No joy for Giantslayer on that attempt. John Paul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwalin Giantslayer. #SUB2# Rolla swings around for an armbar but Paul sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rolla's guard. Paul stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rolla swivels though and keeps the full guard. #SUB2# Rolla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paul doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Rolla is tightening it up a little... Paul has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Paul reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Paul taps out! Nice BJJ there by Rolla!

We've been told by Paul's head coaches at Mentor Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Apple on the wrong end of a nice hook.#KD# Paul sends Apple crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Paul is motioning to the referee to let Apple up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!#ROC#Apple is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roberts throws a leg kick but Paul moved away.#CL2# Paul closes the distance and clinches. Paul lands with a left to the head. Paul lands a hook to the side of the head. Roberts has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Paul after a bit of a struggle. Roberts is trying to pull guard but Paul turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Paul is leaning against Roberts and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Paul lands with a short punch from the clinch.
