Buga misses the shot to the body.
Akenzua seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Akenzua closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Buga fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Akenzua looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Buga's coach down at Desert Fitness & Training (14 Elite Coaches) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Buga's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Buga takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Buga scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Buga lands a nice looking body shot.

Buga throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Akenzua on the side of the head.
Akenzua takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Buga keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Buga scores with the left hand. Akenzua knows he should have avoided that one.
Buga throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Akenzua definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Buga bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Akenzua's head.

Buga fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Akenzua manages to avoid it.
Akenzua tries to move into range but Buga moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

and Buga counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Buga throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Buga tests Akenzua's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Buga connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Akenzua momentarily.

It seemed like Buga was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Akenzua misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice uppercut there from Buga.
Akenzua with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Buga to score with a decent uppercut.#ROC2#Akenzua is rocked!
Buga pounces like a tiger and cracks Akenzua with a vicious hook! Akenzua is down but not out! Buga follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

An out of breath Uga Buga thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.

Fernros lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Akenzua throws a sloppy head kick
letting Fernros counter with a right hand.
Fernros drops Akenzua with a naaaaasty hook - Akenzua is in real trouble here! Fernros dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Fredrik Fernros decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Akenzua tries to bum rush Rustler with a series of wild strikes but Rustler uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A little jabbing left from Rustler on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Hodari Akenzua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD#
Akenzua closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rustler's guard.
Akenzua is pushing down on Rustler's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rustler is fighting to maintain full guard but Akenzua has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rustler keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Akenzua in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Rustler tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Akenzua!

Hodari Akenzua spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. |
