#R1# Penttinen fails with the takedown and Kyrvänsyylä counters with a lovely shot to the body. Penttinen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Penttinen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.#CUT#It looks like August Penttinen has been cut. Kyrvänsyylä connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Penttinen covering up! Kyrvänsyylä comes in with a big uppercut and Penttinen goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Einar Kyrvänsyylä! After winning the bout, Einar Kyrvänsyylä thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. |

#R1# The fight stays on the outside here - Kong looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Penttinen slips a jab and a cross from Kong.
#TD# Penttinen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kong napping and manages to drive through into side control! Penttinen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kong sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. #SUB# Penttinen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Penttinen happy to just control the position for now. Kong is looking to regain half guard here but Penttinen keeps moving and retains side control. Penttinen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. We've been hearing good reports from Penttinen's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.#SUB# Penttinen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kong has escaped the position, nice work there. #T1# Sloppy strikes there by Penttinen.#SU# Penttinen stands up and we're back to a striking position. Kong throws a combination. #SUB# Penttinen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kong is just riding it out for now. Penttinen eventually gives up the hold. Kong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Penttinen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T2# Kong pushes Penttinen off looking to stand but Penttinen dives back in and keeps control.
Kong tries to roll over but Penttinen keeps him under control.#SUB# Kong is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Penttinen has latched onto it... Big trouble! Penttinen pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Kong is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Penttinen!

#R1##TD2# Penttinen feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Penttinen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penttinen wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. Penttinen's corner is telling him to maintain position. Smith lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR# Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Penttinen is retaining full guard. Smith stops Penttinen from standing up. Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. #ES2# Penttinen has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Smith has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.#TD2# Penttinen gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Penttinen looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Smith is trying to keep Penttinen in close.
#T1##SUB# Smith has his foot on Penttinen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Penttinen works his way back into a safe position though. Smith trying to control the position.
Penttinen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard. Penttinen works a leg free and moves into half guard. Smith striking from the bottom. Penttinen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Penttinen thows a huge punch but Smith dodges it nicely.

#REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Penttinen defends it nicely.#T4# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Smith dives in for a single leg takedown but Penttinen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Smith is working for takedown but Penttinen is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Penttinen wants to take the fight to the mat but Smith manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Penttinen is looking for a takedown. Penttinen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Smith.

Smith working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Penttinen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Smith is controlling him. That was a close second round but I would say that John Smith will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.#R3##TD2# Penttinen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Penttinen lands in his opponent's guard. Penttinen looking to sit in guard and control but Smith gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. Penttinen showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Smith wants to sweep but no luck. Penttinen sitting in guard, not really doing much. #SU2# Penttinen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. #T3# Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Penttinen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. #TD2# Penttinen dives in and scores a takedown into Smith's guard. Penttinen with a flurry of punches that miss. Penttinen controls from within his opponent's guard. Penttinen won't allow Smith to sweep him here. Penttinen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Smith keeping moving, preventing Penttinen from controlling successfully. #T4# Smith trying to keep a closed guard but Penttinen is proving a slippery customer.
Smith is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Penttinen is controlling him. Penttinen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Penttinen. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. And that's the end of the fight! August Penttinen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Penttinen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
