White misses with a takedown attempt - Black sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. White shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Black pinned against the cage. Black gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Joe Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jai White. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. White on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.#CUT#It looks like Jai White has been cut.#T1# A head kick misses from Black. White throws a quick inside leg kick. #CL# Black forces White back against the cage and clinches. White wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Black works on White's body with a couple of short punches. White wants to break free but Black has control.
#BC# Black breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. #CL2# White moves into the clinch successfully.
Black effectively controlling the action here. White pushes off an throws an elbow but Black leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Black dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. White takes a shot to the head. #T2# White gets underhooks to prevent Black's takedown attempt.

#TD# Black turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Black manages to end up in side control. We've been hearing good reports from Black's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The crowd are loving this. Black is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that White can do to turn this around? Black tries to score a body lock takedown but White shows good agility there to stay on his feet. White on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Black wants to stand up but White is controlling him. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Black pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces White back to the cage. Black follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.#CL# White tries to keep at a distance but Black has taken the fight into the clinch. White trying to control the position from guard on top but Black is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Black. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. White might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Black haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Black controls White momentarily but White frees himself. Black managing to control the position. #T4# White won't allow Black to sweep him here. Black has control of White's left arm, preventing White from doing any damage. Black is looking to stand up but White isn't so interested in that idea. #REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A punch combination from Black misses. White tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. White is looking to clinch. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joe Black. Well Black has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... #R1##CL# White moves into the clinch.#BC2# Welch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. White moves in looking to clinch but Welch pushes him off. Welch throws a big counter head kick but White avoids it with no problem. White doesn't succeed with the takedown#TD2# and Welch counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Welch seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Welch thows a huge punch but White dodges it nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Welch throwing shots but White is blocking nicely. #SUB2# Welch is looking for a kimura but White is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Welch to get the leverage. #T1# Welch is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Welch prevents White from improving his position. Welch not landing any meaningful shots this time. Welch is figuring out what he wants to do next. Welch throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. White trying to control from the bottom.
White tries to roll over but Welch keeps him under control. Welch uses his free foot to push down on White's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for White. Welch connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Welch content just to control the position here. #T3# White wants to control but Welch is having none of it. White blocking the ground and pound. Welch looking to finish White with some ground and pound. This is bad for White! Welch tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Welch has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#SUB2# Welch is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. White is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. White flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Welch anticipates the leg and manages to get behind White and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Welch slips an arm under White chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Welch has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Welch is squeezing on White like an anaconda would it's prey. White fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

White manages to get full guard. #SU# Silva stands up from White's guard - Silva perhaps looking for a knockout. Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance. White connects with a solid leg kick. #TD# Silva drives through with a takedown into guard. Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
