The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A nice leg kick lands there from Jones. #CL2# Jones has closed the distance and engaged Welch in a clinch.

#SUB# Welch has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jones is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Welch. Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Smith shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense. Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronny Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Jones. Smith dives in for a single leg takedown but Jones sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Smith tries to circle away but Jones has him pinned against the cage.
