Punchhard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Punchhard lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Punchhard sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Let's hope that Punchhard has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eyepoke is looking to stand up but Punchhard isn't so interested in that idea. #T1#
Punchhard controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Punchhard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Eyepoke swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Punchhard has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
