#R1##TD2# Bonkers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bonkers lands in his opponent's guard. Bonkers stopping the sweep attempt from Merton. Merton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bonkers on the ground.#SUB# Bonkers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Merton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bonkers has managed to get both his arms back between Merton's legs - danger averted. Bonkers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. #SU2# Bonkers stands up and waves to Merton to follow him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD2# Bonkers scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Merton tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Bonkers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.#T1##SUB2# Bonkers is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Merton is forced to tap! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Johnny Bonkers! |
