#R1##CL2# Lars has managed to clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Lars.
#TD2# Lars has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kulina uses from the top position. Lars throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Kulina advances to half guard. Kulina seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Kulina slips a nice elbow through Lars's hands, connecting with Lars's forehead. Lars is trying to control but can't.
#SUB2# Lars looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kulina working over Lars with some ground and pound. Lars looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Kulina wants to control but Lars is keeping him busy. #T1# Lars wants to get back to his feet.#SUB2# Lars looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lars misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Kulina lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Kulina trying to control from Lars's half guard. Lars has other ideas though and has regained full guard. #SUB2# Lars has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kulina can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lars is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kulina tries to free his leg and advance position but Lars is retaining full guard. #T2# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lars has momentary wrist control but Kulina slips an elbow through the middle. Lars pulls Kulina in close to prevent any damage. Kulina is in close to Lars's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kulina is working Lars over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Kulina wants to control from the top but Lars keeps moving. Lars keeping full guard, as Kulina tries to pass. Lars keeping moving, preventing Kulina from controlling successfully. Lars controlling the position.#T3# Kulina throws a big right hand that misses. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Kulina working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lars's head. Kulina stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lars swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lars wants to sweep here but Kulina controlling him for the moment. Kulina looking to sit in guard and control but Lars gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVB# Lars has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kulina is proving hard to escape from. Kulina utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. #T4# Kulina tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kulina keeping full guard, as Lars tries to pass. #SUB# Kulina working for a triangle but Lars defends it easily.
Lars trying to control but Kulina is working from the bottom. Lars seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kulina trying to keep a closed guard but Lars is proving a slippery customer.

That was a close round but I would say that Jay Kulina will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!#R2##TD2# Lars scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lars is looking to take a break and control but Kulina is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kulina dodges the ground and pound from Lars. Lars tries to move to mount but Kulina blocks the move with his legs. Lars working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kulina tries to strike but it doesn't land. Kulina might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lars laying and praying for a moment but Kulina takes advantage and regains half guard. #ES# Kulina manages to escape and get back to his feet! #T1# Kulina shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lars but Lars pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kulina darts in looking for a takedown but Lars gets double underhooks and turns Kulina into the cage. #TD2# Lars has picked Kulina up - he's going for a ride! Lars dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Kulina is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lars is keen to just control but Kulina is a slippery customer. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lars in particular looking to stall. Kulina keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kulina gets back to full guard.
#T2# Kulina looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lars is one step ahead there. Kulina has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lars has passed into side control.
#SUB2# Lars working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Lars is looking to take a break and control but Kulina is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. #T3# Kulina pecks away with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Lars throws a strike aimed at the side of Kulina's head but Kulina avoids it well. Kulina gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Kulina manages to get to full guard.
#SUB# Kulina is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. #SUB# Kulina looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
#T4# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kulina keeping moving, preventing Lars from controlling successfully. Kulina managing to control the position. Lars must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SU2# Lars stands up from guard. Let's bang! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!#CL2# Lars closes the distance and clinches. Kulina fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Kulina. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kulina is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Lars is defending well for now. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Lars showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!#R3# Lars lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. #CL2# Lars fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kulina, pushing him back against the cage.#TD2# Lars jumps into guard, dragging Kulina to the mat.

Lars takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kulina is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lars is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.#SUB# Kulina actively working from the bottom here.#SU2# Lars postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kulina to stand up. #CL2# Lars moves into the clinch. Kulina is trying to drag Lars to the mat but Lars just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kulina tries to pull guard but Lars forces him back to his feet, against the cage.#T3# Lars softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Kulina tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. #BC# Kulina manages to break the clinch.

He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lars pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kulina tumbling to the mat - Lars dives into Kulina's guard. Lars is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.#T4# Kulina wants to stand but Lars is controlling the position. Lars has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kulina controls Lars momentarily but Lars frees himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lars trying to control the position from guard on top but Kulina is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #SUB# Kulina is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lars is aware though and is defending well.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Lars comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lars has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
