#R1# Path shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well. Path closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Path pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Path. Connor Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of War Path. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Path. Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Path. Jones definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Path fails with the takedown. An attempted straight right counter from Jones misses the target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Path fails with a takedown attempt. Jones swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.#T1# Path misses with a takedown attempt and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. War Path seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Path gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Path shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand! A swing and a miss from Jones. Path shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Path's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Path uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones. Path is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Connor Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Path.#T2# Jones stalks Path and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Path's face. Path staggers backwards, shaken.#CUT#It looks like War Path has been cut. Jones throws a jab when Path was well out of range. Jones connects with a body shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones misses with a looping right. Path tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Path dives in for a single leg takedown but Jones sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Path shoots in but no luck this time. Path wants to clinch enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. #CL2# Path gets in close and instigates a clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Jones. #T3##BC# Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jones throws a big shot that misses. Path let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Path keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jones.#CL2# Path pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch.#BC# Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Path with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target. Path throws a counter combo.#TD2# Path shoots in and gets a takedown into Jones's guard. Jones manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Jones is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Path uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jones. Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for Path on that attempt. Jones throws a jab when Path was well out of range. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!#R2# Jones misses with a looping right. As Jones backs off Path throws a huge counter combo but Jones manages to avoid it all. Path looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Path persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing. As Path looks to move away, Jones throws a big counter combo but Path just gets out of the way. Path has a takedown stuffed. Jones was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.#CL2# Path closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.#BC# Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jones thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Path can do to turn this around? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Path loses concentration momentarily and Jones pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Path crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Jones finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Connor Jones! Connor Jones bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it. |

#R1# Poower moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.#CUT2#It looks like Connor Jones has been cut.#TD2# Poower looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jones! Jones wants to control but Poower postures up.#SU2# Poower stands up and we're back to a striking position. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Poower lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jones has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jones and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Poower fails with a takedown attempt. Poower looks to clinch and Jones counters with a stiff right hand. Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jones is pushing Poower's head away, looking to escape. Poower manages to hold on to the position though. A lull in the action here.#SUB2# Poower tries for a kimura but Jones is defending well. Jones is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Poower has just dragged him back down to the mat.#T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.#SU2# Poower stands up and we're back to a striking position. Poower looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.#KD# Jones cracks Poower with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Jones has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Poower to stand back up!#ROC#Poower is rocked! Jones lands a brutal uppercut that launches Poower off his feet! Poower tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Connor Jones! After the fight, Connor Jones was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |
