We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Paulssen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed ODooley's guard. Paulssen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. ODooley is in trouble now - Paulssen has advanced to mount! Paulssen controlling from the full mount. Paulssen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as ODooley is looking to escape. #SUB# Paulssen is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. We've been hearing reports that Paulssen has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A short uppercut from Impala . Paulssen has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Paulssen slips a straight right by Nyla. Nyla thows a left - swing and a miss! The fighters circling - Nyla throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nyla throws a shot from downtown. Paulssen moves away and avoids it. Nyla defending well as Paulssen loads up on a big left hand. #TD# Paulssen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Nyla to the ground. Paulssen is now in Nyla's guard. Paulssen passes easily into side control. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paulssen staying calm. Nyla defending against the ground and pound. #T1# Nyla is not content to let Paulssen control the position. The strikes coming from Paulssen are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Nyla felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Takeshi throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Paulssen's head. Paulssen swings for the body but Takeshi moves out of range.

Paulssen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Takeshi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Paulssen feinted with a counter takedown. Takeshi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Paulssen fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Paulssen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Takeshi.

Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Paulssen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Takeshi can pounce on him.
