#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown. Howard tries to sprawl out of it but Taylor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Howard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Taylor shoots for a takedown but Howard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Howard swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Taylor shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Howard defends it nicely. Howard is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Dean Howard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Taylor.#T1# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor shoots in but no luck this time. #R1# Brown attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Brown throws a body punch but Taylor moves out of range. John Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brown throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A punch combination from Brown misses. Taylor thinks about the counter body kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Brown. Taylor does a little dance to reset his feet.#CL# Brown instigates a clinch. Brown has a couple of punches blocked by Taylor.
Brown throws a punch but it's blocked by Taylor. A head punch on the inside from Brown fails to land. I was talking to Brown's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown swings wildly with an uppercut but Taylor uses good head movement to avoid it. #R1# Taylor shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Garcia throws a big counter combination but Taylor scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Taylor fails in his attempt to clinch. Kyle Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garcia waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Taylor. Taylor doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Garcia to counter with a crisp jab. Garcia misses with a straight left. Garcia has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.#TD2# Taylor closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Taylor thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Taylor remains in side control and seems content to stay there.
