The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Garcilazo goes for a double leg but Burroughs avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Burroughs continues to drive forward. Burroughs feinted with a counter takedown. Burroughs displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Garcilazo. Garcilazo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Burroughs avoids it really well and circles away. Jimmy Burroughs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leaf Garcilazo.#TD# Burroughs decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. #R1# McGregor scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
#CUT2#It looks like Leaf Garcilazo has been cut. McGregor connects with a body shot that sends Garcilazo's belly button to the back. Garcilazo shoots and misses and McGregor counters with a nice body shot. Garcilazo shoots for a takedown but McGregor saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Garcilazo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McGregor cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leaf Garcilazo. That's going to take a lot out of him. McGregor pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Garcilazo back to the cage. McGregor follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. McGregor lands with a nice body punch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Garcilazo is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McGregor. McGregor throws a one two combo.

McGregor cracks Garcilazo with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Garcilazo tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but McGregor pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Garcilazo is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
