And an attempted straight right on the counter from Cole! But no joy. Cole lands a nice shot that snaps Sampson's head back.

It seemed like Sampson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Mihaljevic tries for a takedown but Sampson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sampson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Mihaljevic lands a lovely overhand right. Sampson works the jab nicely. Mihaljevic fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sampson avoids it really well and circles away. Mihaljevic looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mihaljevic throws a body shot but no joy. Mihaljevic tries to close the distance and clinch but Sampson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vedran Mihaljevic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mihaljevic shoots in looking for a takedown but Sampson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mihaljevic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
