Let's get this grappling contest under way! Me Harder trying to control but he's not successful this time. Hjelm is trying to escape the mount but Me Harder keeps good control and instead manages to take Hjelm's back.

I really don't envy Hjelm right now.
#T8##SUB# Me Harder is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hjelm has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Me Harder is riding his opponent, not letting Hjelm buck him off. #SUB# Me Harder has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hjelm has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Hjelm refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Hjelm's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Isak Hjelm! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?#TD2# Hjelm looking to score a takedown here. Shimaev is defending well but Hjelm drives through and ends up in Shimaev's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Shimaev (0) vs (2) Hjelm Hjelm engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Hjelm trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. #SUB# Shimaev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hjelm doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hjelm manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hjelm stopping the sweep attempt from Shimaev.#SUB# Shimaev is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. #SUB# Shimaev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hjelm gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hjelm looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Hjelm stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shimaev swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shimaev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hjelm wants to pass the guard but Shimaev is keeping the position.#T2# Hjelm engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Let's hope that Hjelm has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Hjelm must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SUB# Shimaev has his foot on Hjelm's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hjelm works his way back into a safe position though. Hjelm is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. It looks like Hjelm might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance...
