He has the arm isolated but Miller is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Miller is looking to regain half guard here but Smejkal keeps moving and retains side control. #SUB2# Smejkal working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Miller is pushing Smejkal's head away, looking to escape. Smejkal manages to hold on to the position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Smejkal wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Miller, who protects the arm well. #SUB2# Smejkal tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. #SUB2# Smejkal thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. #T1# Miller can't do much from the bottom here. This could be all over! Wait, no, Miller rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Smejkal's guard! Nice work there by Miller! Smejkal looks winded! Miller throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smejkal works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Miller tries to stand but Smejkal is controlling from the bottom. Miller slips nicely into half guard.#T3##SUB# Miller is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Smejkal sees it coming and defends easily. Miller not landing any meaningful shots this time. Smejkal gets back to full guard.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Smejkal jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. #SUB2# Smejkal thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. #SUB# Miller is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Smejkal frees his head nicely. Oh but Miller has switched to an armbar! Smejkal is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

#R1# Os connects with a body shot that sends Smejkal's belly button to the back. Os steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Smejkal is out on his feet! Os sets himself and nearly takes Smejkal's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Josef Smejkal had a terrible time trying to make weight. After initially coming in at 209.4, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. Stepping on the scales for a second time, he still failed to make the required weight and after much deliberation, his fight with Bruce Paul was cancelled. |

#R1# Smejkal tries for a takedown but Fischer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sloppy strikes from Fischer. Those never looked like landing. Smejkal tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fischer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smejkal somewhat. Smejkal shoots for a takedown but Fischer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Fischer lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josef Smejkal. That's going to take a lot out of him. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fischer can do anything to dispel that myth.#SUB# Smejkal is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
