Stoppelbein fails with the takedown#TD# and Pardi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stoppelbein won't be happy with that. Kristof Pardi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Helmut Stoppelbein. Pardi just content to control the position. Stoppelbein tries to get back to half guard but can't. Pardi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Pardi scores with a couple of short elbows. Stoppelbein tries to buck Pardi off but Pardi is having none of it. Stoppelbein takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Stoppelbein is letting Pardi control him for a moment. Stoppelbein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pardi. Koefti thinks about the counter body kick. Stoppelbein is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Koefti gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Helmut Stoppelbein. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stoppelbein looking for a takedown. Koefti crunches a lovely knee into Stoppelbein's ribcage. A nice left hand lands by Koefti.

Ann misses with an uppercut. Stoppelbein fails with the takedown and Ann counters with a leg kick. Stoppelbein dives in and grabs Ann's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ann pushes down on Stoppelbein's head and hops out. Jules Ann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Helmut Stoppelbein. Ann jabs Stoppelbein right on the nose. Stoppelbein blinks but takes it well. Ann stuffs the takedown. We've been told by Ann's head coaches at 020 Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Ann swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stoppelbein is defended easily by Ann. It looked like Ann wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ann scores with a shot to the body.
