Bernier has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A relieved looking Guy Bernier thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

St Pierre shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and St Pierre slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! St Pierre lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.
