#R1##TD# Diaz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Richer napping and manages to drive through into side control! Diaz trying to control the position but Richer is working away. Richer tries to get back to half guard but can't. Diaz misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Diaz taking a break here but Richer is having none of it and regains half guard. Diaz is looking to take a break and control but Richer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Richer is trying to maintain the position but Diaz is very close to passing his half guard.#SUB# Diaz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Richer gets back to full guard.

Richer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. It looks like Richer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. He's in guard on the top - nicely done! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Richer showing good wrestling skills to control the position. And that is the end of the round. Diaz is holding on here and Richer must be using up a lot of energy. Diaz has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Richer gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.#TD# Diaz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. OMalley tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Diaz is in OMalley's guard. OMalley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diaz manages to get himself to full guard.
