Ville Villunen really struggled with his weight cut for this fight. After coming in at 148.8, he had two hours to cut the additional weight. He was unable to do so and as a result, his fight with Devin Brown was cancelled. |

#R1# Villunen throws a head kick that misses. Kimura tries to counter with a takedown but Villunen is quick to defend against it.#TD2# Kimura gets caught flat footed, as Villunen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Villunen preventing the sweep. Villunen trying to control but Kimura is working from the bottom. #SUB# Kimura has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Villunen should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kimura has tightened it up now! Villunen should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Naked Kimura! Naked Kimura decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |
