#R1# Matrix tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Adebisi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Adebisi looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Adebisi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Matrix throws a right hand that Adebisi ducks under and follows up with a left that Adebisi also avoids with ease. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Adebisi! But no joy. Matrix fails in his attempt to clinch. Adebisi throws out a counter right but Matrix avoids it with no problem. Matrix tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Adebisi doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Matrix is defended easily by Adebisi. Adebisi throws out a counter right but Matrix avoids it with no problem. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Matrix. That's going to take a lot out of him.#T1# Matrix connects with a jab. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Adebisi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Matrix shoots in looking for a takedown. Adebisi tries to sprawl out of it but Matrix keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Adebisi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Matrix tries to clinch and Adebisi counters with a nice uppercut. Matrix is looking to clinch but Adebisi is avoiding it.
Matrix closes the distance but Adebisi moves to the side and Adebisi counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. #T2# Matrix doesn't manage to clinch there - Adebisi circles away.

Matrix tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Adebisi defends well and Matrix ends up having to push Adebisi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Matrix doesn't succeed with the takedown and Adebisi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Adebisi is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Matrix with a body shot. Matrix is breathing heavily. Adebisi avoids a punch combination nicely.

A little jabbing left from Adebisi on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. A nice side step and Adebisi releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Matrix goes for a takedown attempt but Adebisi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Matrix is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Matrix fails with the takedown and Adebisi counters with a straight right hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Matrix has his takedown stuffed letting Adebisi counter with a right hand. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Adebisi dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Adebisi dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Matrix stiff and motionless on the mat!

#R1# Matrix swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Liddell goes for a high kick. It partially lands. That kick from Matrix tenderised Liddell's leg. Liddell is trying to keep his angry face on. Matrix pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matrix ducks under a wild hook from Liddell.#TD# Liddell shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matrix manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Liddell is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Liddell pushing down on Matrix's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. #T1# Liddell uses his free foot to push down on Matrix's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Matrix. Liddell controlling the pace for now. Liddell working away from the top, dropping strikes. Liddell in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Matrix takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Liddell looking to finish Matrix with some ground and pound. This is bad for Matrix!#ROC#Matrix is rocked!#SUB# Matrix has left one of his arms exposed and Liddell doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Matrix screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

#CUT2#It looks like John Matrix has been cut. Tech throws a head kick that misses. Tech lands a two punch combo.
Matrix walks into a stiff left hand from Tech. Tech thumps Matrix with a low kick. Matrix shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tech as he jumps to the side. Good leg kick by Tech. Matrix closes the distance and clinches up with Tech, looking for a takedown. Matrix pushes Tech against the cage but Tech circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Matrix has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tech. Tech scoring well with a low kick there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tech misses with an uppercut. Matrix saw that one coming.#TD# Matrix gets a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tech missing with punches from the bottom.
#T1# Tech wants to improve his position but Matrix is controlling well.
Tech has a hand on Matrix's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Matrix takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Tech wants to hold on but Matrix pushes him away. Matrix content just to control the position here. Matrix avoids the attempt from Tech to control.#T2# Matrix controlling his opponent. Tech working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Matrix lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Matrix sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Tech tries to hold on but Matrix postures up. Matrix content just to control the position here. #T3# Tech is looking to get to half guard. Matrix is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tech can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Tech is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Matrix working away from the top, dropping strikes. Tech tries to lock up and control but Matrix gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Tech can't escape the position.
Tech tries to control Matrix's body but Matrix pushes him off. Tech squirms to his side and now Matrix has his back! #T4# Matrix avoiding Tech 's attempts to control his hands. Tech is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Matrix is staying active. Matrix scores with strikes from the back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Matrix will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on John Matrix's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.#R2# Matrix takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Tech throws a head kick that misses. Matrix changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tech tries to avoid it but Matrix manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tech to the ground. Tech escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Med Tech seems to be getting the better of the standup. Tech misses with a head kick.
As Tech looks to move away, Matrix throws a big counter combo but Tech just gets out of the way. Tech throws a head kick that misses. Matrix went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Tech slips a jab and a cross from Matrix.
Tech throws a quick inside leg kick. Tech fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Matrix. Tech throws a one two combo.
Matrix tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Tech connects with a high kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tech throws a head kick that Matrix semi-blocks.

John Matrix is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tech throws a leg kick which misses Matrix's front leg but catches the back leg as Matrix tries to avoid it. Tech closes the distance and lands a one-two.#T1# Matrix is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Tech tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Matrix moves out of range as Tech strikes. Tech lands a head kick. Matrix smiles back at him and beckons him forward. #ROC2#Matrix is rocked! Tech dances in with a quick combination. Matrix is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Tech snaps Matrix's head back. Matrix stumbles backwards against the cage. Tech steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Matrix's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Matrix just didn't come prepared.

#R1##TD# Burns changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Matrix looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burns cracks Matrix with an elbow. That is naaassty. Burns scores with punches from side control. Burns cracks Matrix with a big right hand but Matrix just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
You can see the frustration on Matrix's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Burns lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Burns is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Burns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.#SUB# Burns is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Matrix is trying to escape and Burns transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Matrix is forced to tap! Nice work there by Burns! Very nice indeed!

#R1##TD2# Matrix dives in and scores a takedown into Lee's guard. Lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Matrix slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lee has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Matrix has passed into side control.
Matrix remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Matrix is working Lee over with some ground and pound from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Matrix tries to advance to mount but Lee denies him. Matrix content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. #SUB2# Matrix is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lee looks calm but he's in trouble here. Matrix gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lee is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Matrix lets go of the hold and Lee can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Shimada lands a shoulder strike. Shimada lands with a light punch inside. Shimada lands a body shot in the clinch.
Matrix's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Matrix has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Shimada scores with a hook to the body. Shimada lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Matrix backwards. Shimada scores with an uppercut up the middle. Shimada working some nice short punches in the clinch. Shimada works on Matrix's body with a couple of short punches. Matrix is breathing heavily. Shimada scores with a shot to the side of Matrix's head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Shimada creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. A short right from Shimada. A left hand lands to the body for Shimada.
Shimada throws a big uppercut that drops Matrix! More strikes from Shimada and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Matrix lies dazed against the cage as Shimada celebrates with his cornermen!

Shimada lands a body shot in the clinch.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Shimada screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
