#R1# Camela misses with a series of wild punches.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Smith has eaten all the pies!#CL# Camela clinches up against the cage. Smith tries to pull guard but Camela holds him up against the cage and eventually Smith drops back down to his feet.
Smith is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Camela to keep the fight standing. Smith trying to control the position but instead, Camela has worked for underhooks and has pushed Smith into the cage. Smith is trying to pull guard but Camela turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Benito Camela has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Smith. Camela tries a knee to the head but Smith blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Camela lands a shot to the body. Camela stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Smith has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Smith rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Camela finish him?!

Smith is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Camela works the jab nicely. Camela with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Camela looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Camela lets loose with a powerful body kick. Smith will feel that in the morning. Camela moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. #T3##CL# Camela closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Camela manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Camela for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Smith managing to block the knees to the body from Camela.
Smith blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Camela looking to throw knees to the head but Smith is blocking nicely.

The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.#R2##CL# Camela clinches. Camela displaying some good clinch control by pressing Smith up against the cage.#TD2# Smith decides to pull guard. Camela has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.#SUB2# Smith is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Camela defends well. Camela trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Camela won't allow Smith to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith has a closed guard, preventing Camela from standing up. Camela is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around?#T1# Camela is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
#REVB# Smith passes easily into side control. Nice work. Camela is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.#SUB2# Smith has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Camela is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Smith yanks on the arm and Camela is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Smith.

#R1# Gavenda throws a head kick that Smith semi-blocks.
#CUT2#It looks like Steven Smith has been cut. Smith chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gavenda can pounce on him.
Smith avoids the head kick by Gavenda.
#KD2# Gavenda lands a big head kick that sends Smith tumbling to the mat! Gavenda takes a step backwards and waves Smith back to his feet - he wants the finish! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gavenda throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Smith crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Tobias Gavenda! A relieved looking Tobias Gavenda thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |

#R1# Smith tries to clinch there but Gonzales circles away.
Gonzales looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Smith tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gonzales manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Gonzales looks like he wants to counter punch here. Gonzales is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smith. Smith could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Gonzales tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Smith appears to be looking for a counter takedown.#TD# Smith fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gonzales to the ground. Smith is now in Gonzales's guard. Smith throws a big elbow that misses. Gonzales working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smith. Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gonzales works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gonzales utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Smith scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Gonzales throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Smith is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Smith landing with the ground and pound. Smith pushing down on Gonzales's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Smith is looking to take a break and control but Gonzales is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. #SUB# Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gonzales doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#SUB# Smith is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
