Malig tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Suzuki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Malig as he avoids it easily.
Malig ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Suzuki moves away.

Suzuki avoids a punch combination nicely.
Valentino throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Valentino wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Suzuki has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Suzuki has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Suzuki there as he acknowledges the shot.

Still in half guard, Suzuki seems content to control.
McCallen felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
McCallen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Suzuki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#SUB#
