#R1# Davies swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
#TD2# and Gatto counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Davies! #SUB2# Gatto thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Davies wants to control but Gatto postures up. Davies is looking to reverse the position. Gatto trying to control the action but Davies is working from the bottom. Gatto throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Davies works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davies moves into full guard.
#T1# Gatto sitting in guard, not really doing much. Gatto must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Davies controls Gatto momentarily but Gatto frees himself. Gatto working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gatto throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davies works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gatto trying to control the position from guard on top but Davies is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davies working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gatto. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gatto lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.#T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gatto wants to control from the top but Davies keeps moving. Davies really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Gatto throwing strikes but missing. Gatto working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gatto trying to control but Davies is working from the bottom. #REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Gatto is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Davies.#CUT#It looks like Joe Gatto has been cut.#CL2# Gatto takes the fight into the clinch. #TD2# Gatto has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Davies is trying to keep an underhook but Gatto manages to get the takedown into half guard. Davies wants to improve his position but Gatto is controlling well.

Gatto is looking to advance position but Davies won't allow it. #SUB2# Gatto seems to be working for a kimura but Davies defends the submission attempt. Gatto content to control rather than advance. Davies wants to control but Gatto is keeping busy and won't allow it. #T4# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gatto wants to take a breather but Davies is having none of it. Gatto wants to pass the guard but Davies is defending well. Gatto is controlling the pace.
#SUB2# Gatto is working for a kimura but Davies is defending it quite comfortably.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gatto seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Gatto dominated that round. The cut man is working on Joe Gatto's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.#R2# Davies gets in close and tags Gatto with a short punch that almost sends Gatto to the mat! Oh Gatto is in big trouble! He turns his back on Davies, trying to create some distance but Davies rushes him, striking wildly and Gatto goes down! The referee tackles Davies into the cage to end the fight! Davies is one violent man!
