Orsetti creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Aldo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. #SUB2# Orsetti is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Aldo has escaped the position, nice work there. Aldo is pushing Orsetti's head away, looking to escape. Orsetti manages to hold on to the position though. Aldo stops Orsetti from passing to mount. Aldo is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. John Aldo dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.#R2# Imai closes this distance looking for a takedown but Aldo circles away. Aldo drops down looking for a counter takedown but Imai sprawls and moves away. Imai misses with a takedown #TD# and Aldo counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Imai! Imai is trying to get back to half guard. Aldo moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Imai is looking to regain half guard here but Aldo keeps moving and retains side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aldo lands a decent elbow from side control. #T1# A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Aldo working the body and head with strikes. Aldo in side control, just content to control the action for now. #T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Imai takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Imai felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Imai taking a bit of punishment here - Aldo scoring with strikes. Imai prevents Aldo from moving into mount. Aldo controlling the position from side mount. Imai struggling a bit here. Aldo is staying tight to Imai's torso, preventing him from escaping. Imai takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Aldo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Imai can do to turn this around? Aldo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Imai is looking for a sweep.
