#R1# Fay tries to bum rush Trot with a series of wild strikes but Trot uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Trot changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Patrick Fay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick from Trot lands but Fay takes it in his stride. Trot really is a fat lump. Trot tries for a takedown but Fay sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.#CL2# Fay has managed to clinch.
#TD# Trot decides to pull guard. Fay would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Fay controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trot working a defensive guard here.
Trot preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. #T1# Fay is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Trot tries to land a sweep but no joy. Trot trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Fay fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Trot takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Fay lands with a right to the head. Fay lands a hook that snaps the head of Trot backwards. Fay lands a left hand that snaps the head of Trot backwards. Fay lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Fay tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Trot swivels and escapes. Fay connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Trot covering up! Fay comes in with a big uppercut and Trot goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
