Guile scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Guile has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Guile misses with a looping right.
Guile keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Nice body punch from Beam - that landed with a thud.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Beam creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Beam screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Starmer scores with a takedown into Guile's guard.
Starmer trying to control the position from guard on top but Guile is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #SUB#
Guile working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Starmer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Starmer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've been hearing good reports from Guile's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Guile could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
