Coles closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Templey tries to improve position but can't.

Coles is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Templey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Templey tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Coles wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Coles working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Templey turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Coles off and cradles Templey's limp body as Coles celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Senior Coles!
