Kaituu drops his hands momentarily and Gracie takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Kaituu misses with a takedown attempt and Gracie counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A left and a right from Gracie both land. Nice combination. #TD# Gracie fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kaituu to the ground. Gracie is now in Kaituu's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gracie working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kaituu's head. Kaituu wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment. #SUB2# Kaituu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie lands a couple of digs. Gracie content to stall in guard here. Gracie scores with a decent looking elbow strike.#SUB2# Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kaituu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Kaituu's legs - danger averted. Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.#T1##SUB2# Kaituu is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gracie defends well. Gracie is working Kaituu over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Gracie is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kaituu looking to control.

He's left an arm up in the air though and Gracie has latched onto it... Big trouble! Gracie pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Kaituu is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Gracie!

Kaituu is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.#SUB# Benson is looking for a triangle but Kaituu pushes his legs off easily.
Benson keeping full guard, as Kaituu tries to pass. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kaituu advances to half guard. Kaituu seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
