Newton is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Newton advances to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Newton moves into full mount! Nishimura won't be happy about that! #SUB2# Newton has hold of Nishimura's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nishimura manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Nishimura keeping moving, preventing Arai from controlling successfully. Arai stays in close to Nishimura's body and controls the position. Arai forces his way into half guard. Miller ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nishimura moves away. Miller throws a body shot but no joy. Miller throws a looping overhand right but Nishimura ducks down to avoid it. Nishimura steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Miller. Nishimura throws a leg kick that is checked enabling Miller to counter with a crisp jab. Nishimura throws a half hearted mid kick. Miller throws a looping overhand right but Nishimura ducks down to avoid it. Nishimura needs to keep his hands up - Miller had a free shot at his head there. Miller misses with a looping left. Miller slips a jab from Nishimura. Nishimura misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Nishimura misses with a leg kick #TD# and Arai counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Arai. Nishimura has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Arai off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. #TD# Arai looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
