and Planck counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

#R1##KD2# Oooh a lovely combination from Kowalski sends Hutch down but not out. Kowalski dives into side control looking to finish. #ROC2#Hutch is rocked! Hutch is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Oh Hutch is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Kowalski staying calm. Kowalski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hutch wants to control but Kowalski postures up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kowalski tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Hutch seems to have got his legs back now. Kowalski is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hutch's shoulder. That is not cool. Hutch holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Hutch gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Kowalski is keen to just control but Hutch is a slippery customer.#SUB# Hutch looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hutch is pressing down on Kowalski's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.#T1# Kowalski trying to control the position from guard on top but Hutch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #SUB# Hutch looking for a guillotine here but Kowalski defends easily.
Hutch being controlled here, momentarily. Kowalski wants to control from the top but Hutch keeps moving. #T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.#SUB# Hutch is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kowalski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hutch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kowalski with a flurry of punches that miss. Kowalski stops Hutch from standing up. Hutch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hutch keeping moving, preventing Kowalski from controlling successfully. #REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kowalski jabs Hutch to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hutch is breathing heavily.#CL2# Kowalski has closed the distance and engaged Hutch in a clinch.
Kowalski scores with a shoulder strike. #T3# Kowalski comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kowalski takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Kowalski pushes Hutch back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kowalski will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hutch up against the cage. Kowalski lands a knee to the head.
Kowalski throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hutchs head. Kowalski connects with a nasty looking knee right to Hutch's face.

This has been an exciting period of action! Kowalski cracks Hutch with a nice body shot. Hutch being controlled against the cage. Hutch tries to break free but Kowalski pushes him back against the cage. Kowalski is looking for a takedown.#BC2# Kowalski manages to break the clinch.
Kowalski lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Kowalski stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kowalski wants it to stay on the feet.#CL2# Kowalski moves into the clinch successfully.
#BC2# Kowalski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hutch crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kowalski - the referee stops the clock and Hutch gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kowalski. Hutch manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.#CL2# Kowalski drives through and clinches with Hutch against the cage.

Hutch is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Kowalski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hutch walks away with a smile on his face. Kowalski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hutch dives in and grabs Kowalski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kowalski pushes down on Hutch's head and hops out.#CL2# Kowalski clinches. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.#BC2# Kowalski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kowalski tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hutch swivels and escapes. Hutch changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.#TD2# Kowalski shoots in and gets a takedown into Hutch's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kowalski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hutch is proving hard to escape from. #T1# Kowalski trying to control but Hutch is working from the bottom. Kowalski is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Hutch looking to sweep here. No luck so far. #SUB2# Kowalski drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hutch looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hutch looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hutch! #REVR##T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kowalski tries to bench press Hutch off him but Hutch keeps the position. Kowalski wants to get back to his feet but Hutch drags him back down. Hutch throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. A lull in the action here as Hutch stalls from top position. Kowalski pushes Hutch away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hutch gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.#T3# Kowalski can't do much from the bottom here. Kowalski isn't going anywhere. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kowalski takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Kowalski has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#T4# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hutch jumps guard but Kowalski turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamie Hutch. That's going to take a lot out of him.#BC2# Kowalski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hutch fails with the takedown. As Hutch backs off Kowalski throws a huge counter combo but Hutch manages to avoid it all. Kowalski dives in for a single leg takedown but Hutch sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Hutch avoids the head kick by Kowalski.
Kowalski uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hutch. Kowalski is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Hutch shoots in for a double leg but Kowalski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hutch looks to land a right hand but Kowalski moved out of range. Hutch shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kowalski counters with a nice body shot. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#CL2# Kowalski darts in and clinches Hutch up against the cage.#BC2# Kowalski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hutch shoots in looking for a takedown. Kowalski tries to sprawl out of it but Hutch keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kowalski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
John Kowalski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Hutch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Hutch stuffs the takedown attempt from Kowalski. Kowalski gets slowly back to his feet. Hutch throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kowalski's waist but Kowalski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hutch off to one side. John Kowalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kowalski moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Hutch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Both fighters are breathing heavily.#CL2# Kowalski has closed the distance and engaged Hutch in a clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hutch wants to take a breather but Kowalski is having none of it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kowalski can do anything to dispel that myth. Kowalski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hutch missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. #T3# Hutch content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Kowalski throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
