#R1# Nice body kick from Takahashi. Takahashi throws a sloppy head kick and Requina counters with a lovely straight right hand! Requina keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Requina looks to throw the jab but Takahashi is out of range. Takahashi throws the kick towards the body but Requina avoids it. Requina is looking to counter punch. Good leg kick by Takahashi. Takahashi misses with a combination
and Requina counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Requina darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Takahashi fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Requina is out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takahashi attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. It looked like Requina was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Takahashi. Takahashi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Daiki Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takahashi thows a leg kick but Requina checks it and Requina counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Requina blocks a head kick by Takahashi.
A quick step to the side and Requina tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.#T1# Takahashi tries for a takedown but Requina circles away easily and Requina makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Takahashi looks winded! Takahashi throws a sloppy head kick letting Requina counter with a right hand. #ROC#Takahashi is rocked! Takahashi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Takahashi misses with a lunging right hand
and Requina counters with a crisp right that sends Takahashi to the canvas! Requina follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Manuel Requina! Manuel Requina decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little. In defeat, Daiki Takahashi stepped up to the mic, saying 'Each loss contains its own lesson on how to improve performance the next time.'. |

#R1##TD# Caro shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Caro was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Caro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Takahashi can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Caro wants to stand but Takahashi has his arm trapped. Takahashi is trying to improve his position.#SUB# Caro is trying to get an arm triangle but Takahashi is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Caro working the body and head with strikes. Caro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Caro staying calm.#SUB# Caro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Takahashi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. #T1# Takahashi struggling a bit here. Caro staying calm. You can see the frustration on Takahashi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Caro lands a nice forearm strike. #T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Caro trying to control the position but Takahashi is working away. Caro cracks Takahashi with a big elbow. Takahashi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#SUB# Caro is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Takahashi has escaped the position, nice work there. The strikes coming from Caro are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Caro cracks Takahashi with a big right hand but Takahashi just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Takahashi sneaks back into half guard. Caro is trying to control. Caro controlling the action here. Caro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.#T3# Caro is trying to control. Takahashi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Well, if Caro is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Caro in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Takahashi is squirming around, avoiding Caro's attempts to control the action. Takahashi tries to hold on but Caro postures up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Caro is concentrating on defense, preventing Takahashi from advancing position. Caro is refusing to be controlled, as Takahashi sits in half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Caro manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Caro pulls Takahashi in close to prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takahashi's corner is telling him to maintain position.#SUB# Caro is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. #T1##SUB# Caro is looking to cinch up a triangle. Takahashi throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Caro's body to avoid the submission. Caro has instead reached around Takahashi's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Caro arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
