#R1##TD2# Hammer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Two did well to prevent Hammer getting side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Hammer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Hammer prevents Two from standing back up.
Two is trying to get back to full guard. Hammer thows a huge punch but Two dodges it nicely.
#SUB2# Hammer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Two has managed to free his arm - good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hammer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Two is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. #SUB2# Hammer is looking for a kimura but Two is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hammer to get the leverage. #SUB2# Hammer has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Two defend it? Hammer steps over the head and cranks it - Two is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hammer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Justin Hammer! Justin Hammer spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. |
