Kyrylo lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Tartakov or not. Kyrylo lands a body punch in the clinch. Kyrylo lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Kyrylo pushes Tartakov back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Tartakov is breathing heavily. Kyrylo misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Kyrylo as Tartakov tries to tie him up. Kyrylo lands a hook to the side of the head. Tartakov's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! We've been informed that Kyrylo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. McDonald wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Tartakov manages to pass to side control. Tartakov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Thompson. Thompson throws a right and a left that both miss. Thompson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tartakov. Thompson looks to land a combination but Tartakov avoids it well. #TD# Thompson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tartakov's guard. Our spies down at at BKC Gym inform us that Tartakov has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Tartakov is controlling Thompson's posture. Thompson throws a big elbow that misses. Thompson trying to control the position from guard on top but Tartakov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Tartakov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Young swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Tartakov jabs Young right on the nose. Young blinks but takes it well. Old Leg Tartakov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Young looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Young slips a straight right by Tartakov. Tartakov moves out of range of the strikes. Anudo dives in and grabs Tartakov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tartakov pushes down on Anudo's head and hops out. Tartakov fails with an attempt to clinch.
Anudo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Tartakov appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Old Leg Tartakov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anudo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tartakov swivels and escapes. Feynman is pulling down on Tartakov's head to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anudo pushes down on Tartakov's head and hops out. Tartakov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Tartakov avoids the body shot from Anudo.
Anudo shoots in but no luck this time. Tartakov shoots in and drives through. Anudo sprawls well. Anudo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
