Pitts throws a jab but it's blocked by Frost. Pitts throws a lazy right hand but Frost sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Pitts is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Frost. Pitts swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pitts checks the leg kick. Pitts swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Frost misses with a body shot.
Pitts misses with a shot to the body and Frost counters with a nice uppercut. Pitts looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frost just misses with a punch to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Frost. Pitts does a little dance to reset his feet. Pitts paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Frost ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Darren Frost is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pitts lands a nice shot that snaps Frost's head back.
Frost fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Frost moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Frost throws a good cross that connects.

#R1# Pitts swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Pitts has been working on his boxing with his coaches at HB Training center in the buildup to the fight. Luciano gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pitts. Luciano bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Luciano! But no joy. Pitts swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A jab from Pitts does it's job there. Luciano connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pitts's hands. Pitts is not content to let Ruas control the position. Ruas has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Pitts is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Pitts is still trying to improve position. Ruas throws a strike aimed at the side of Pitts's head but Pitts avoids it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ruas misses with an attempted head punch from side control. #SUB# Ruas tries for a kimura but Pitts is defending well. Ruas is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. #T1# Pitts is looking for a sweep. Ruas in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. #R1# Pitts throws a body punch but Gianni moves out of range. Pitts lands with an overhand left. Gianni takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Pitts misses the shot to the body. Pitts definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Gianni lands the left hand. Gianni drops his hands momentarily and Pitts takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Pitts lands a glancing blow to the side of Gianni's head. Pitts punishes Gianni's body with a nice straight punch. Gianni has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Gianni tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pitts was well out of range. Poor timing from Gianni. Pitts lands a nice shot to the body.

James throws out a counter right but Pitts avoids it with no problem. A punch lands to the side of James 's head but he takes it in his stride. James looks to land a left hand but Pitts moved out of range nicely. The fighters circle momentarily. Pitts darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Pitts works James's body with a nice hook. James moves forwards but Pitts connects with a nice, crisp jab. Pitts misses with a body shot.
Pitts lands with an uppercut that bounces James off the cage and back into range. Pitts lands a jab to James's midsection. James slips a straight right by Pitts. James jabs Pitts to the body, keeping him at a distance. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! James throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pitts on the side of the head. Pitts drops his hands momentarily and Smirnov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Smirnov's coach down at Fogwell's Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Smirnov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Pitts defending well as Smirnov loads up on a big left hand. Pitts attempts a counter takedown but Smirnov avoids it well and moves away. Pitts throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Smirnov stuns Pitts with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Smirnov defending well as Pitts loads up on a big left hand.
