Gerritzen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vrjalya is in Gerritzen's guard. Vrjalya told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Gerritzen seems keen to control Vrjalya's posture. Vrjalya trying to control but Gerritzen is working from the bottom. Vrjalya advances to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Faulk takes a step backwards and waves Gerritzen back to his feet - he wants the finish!#ROC#Gerritzen is rocked!#CL# Faulk closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Gerritzen is still on wobbly legs! Can Faulk finish him? A left hand lands to the body for Faulk.
Faulk creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Gerritzen's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Gerritzen drops to his knees and Faulk pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Gerritzen is looking to take a break and control but Anderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gerritzen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Anderson's legs. Anderson struggling a bit here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson is not content to let Gerritzen control the position. #T1# Gerritzen works to advance to full mount. Anderson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Anderson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Brownie Anderson will probably get the nod. Gerritzen appears to be looking for a counter takedown.#TD# Gerritzen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gerritzen connects with a nice short shot to Wick's temple. Wick won't allow Gerritzen to pass to mount. Gerritzen prevents Wick from improving his position. Still in half guard, Gerritzen seems content to control. Gerritzen has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Gerritzen looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Gerritzen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice sprawl there from Gerritzen as Lutter shoots in. Lutter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gerritzen's waist but Gerritzen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lutter off to one side. Lutter doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gerritzen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Travis Lutter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lutter ducks right into an uppercut from Gerritzen. Lutter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Monkey Business in the buildup to the fight. Lutter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gerritzen tries to avoid it but Lutter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gerritzen to the ground. Gerritzen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Horrible takedown attempt by Lutter or perhaps it was just good defense by Gerritzen, which made it look bad.
