#R1##CL2# Thibodeaux gets in close and instigates a clinch. #TD# Finnegan jumps guard and drags Thibodeaux to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Finnegan pulls Thibodeaux in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Finnegan wants to get back to his feet but Thibodeaux is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Thibodeaux trying to control the position from guard on top but Finnegan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Thibodeaux tries to free his leg and advance position but Finnegan is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Finnegan pulls Thibodeaux in to control the position. Thibodeaux is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.#SUB# Finnegan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thibodeaux defends well.#T1# Finnegan trying to keep a closed guard but Thibodeaux is proving a slippery customer.
#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Finnegan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Karockas Thibodeaux is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Finnegan closes the distance and clinches up with Thibodeaux, looking for a takedown. Finnegan pushes Thibodeaux against the cage but Thibodeaux circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Karockas Thibodeaux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thibodeaux slaps away a takedown attempt from Finnegan, before circling back to the center of the mat.#CL2# Thibodeaux instigates a clinch. Finnegan jumps guard but Thibodeaux stands there with Finnegan around his waist. Finnegan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bug Finnegan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Finnegan tries to pull guard but Thibodeaux won't allow it.
Thibodeaux using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Finnegan has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Thibodeaux throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Finnegans head. Thibodeaux lands a hook that snaps the head of Finnegan backwards. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thibodeaux lands a body shot in the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux displaying some good clinch control by pressing Finnegan up against the cage. Thibodeaux tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Finnegan's elbow. Finnegan letting Thibodeaux take a breather here.#T3# Thibodeaux lands with a light punch inside. #CUT2#It looks like Bug Finnegan has been cut. Finnegan takes a shot to the head. Thibodeaux swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Thibodeaux lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Finnegan backwards. A nice left hand lands by Thibodeaux.
#ROC2#Finnegan is rocked! Finnegan is trying to maintain a safe position but Thibodeaux gets an underhook and turns Finnegan into the cage. Oh Finnegan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Thibodeaux lands on the inside with an uppercut. Thibodeaux unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Finnegan! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Thibodeaux is unloading with more strikes now! Finnegan drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
